The 60th Annual Cowboy Artists of America Exhibition & Sale

The 60th Annual Cowboy Artists of America Exhibition & Sale, held October 2-3 at The Legacy Building at National Western, celebrated the organization’s 60th anniversary with a sold-out dinner and more than $1 million generated through art sales, ticket revenue and contributions. The event, presented in partnership with National Western, was the first in a five-year agreement bringing the CAA exhibition to Denver. An enthusiastic crowd of 400 collectors, artists and Western art lovers filled the black-tie dinner and sale, which featured new work from 26 artists: 18 active members, six emeritus members and two guest artists. “Celebrating our 60th anniversary in a new home like The Legacy was a special moment for all of us, and the room showed it. Collectors came ready to celebrate, and a remarkable amount of art found new homes over the weekend,” said Bruce Greene, incoming president of the Cowboy Artists of America. “We are grateful to National Western for welcoming us to Denver, to our sponsors, and to every collector who made this milestone possible. We can’t wait to do it again next year.”

Dustin was deeply honored to receive the inaugural National Western Purchase Award for his sculpture, “The Icon.” This prestigious recognition marks a significant milestone in his artistic career and celebrates a work that has resonated with collectors, with its limited edition now completely sold out.

More information coming soon on the exciting purchase of this edition for the Ranches of the West Awards.

Dustin Payne’s “Trail Dust” was distinguished with the Silver Medal for Sculpture at the 2026 Cowboy Artists of America Annual Exhibition & Sale, a prestigious recognition of artistic excellence in Western sculpture.

"My sincere thanks to the collectors who continue to support my work, both those who have been with me for years and those who are just beginning their collections. Your appreciation for Western art and the stories we strive to preserve through our work means more than I can express. Thank you as well to everyone who attended the black-tie celebration and helped make this milestone 60th anniversary such a memorable occasion. The friendships, conversations, and shared passion for Western art are what make this event so special. I'm already looking forward to what lies ahead. The 2027 Cowboy Artists of America Exhibition & Sale is shaping up to be a not-to-be-missed event on the Western art calendar, and I hope to see you all there!" With sincere appreciation, Dustin Payne
